Tillandsia Capitata × Brachycaulos
The Tillandsia Capitata × Brachycaulos is an attractive ornamental hybrid belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its great coloration capacity, compact growth, and ease of cultivation. It is an ideal air plant for both beginners and collectors.
This hybrid combines two very popular species:
The Tillandsia Capitata, native to Mexico, Cuba, and Central America, contributes its medium size, wider leaves, and ability to acquire reddish or orange tones with good lighting, in addition to its resilience.
For its part, the Tillandsia Brachycaulos, native to Central America, is known for its intense red coloration prior to flowering and its compact growth, being one of the most visually striking tillandsias.
Thanks to this genetic combination, the Tillandsia Capitata × Brachycaulos develops rosettes that are both open and compact, with wider and softer leaves, green in color that can transform into very intense reddish, orange, or pink tones with good lighting.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, the plant intensifies its coloration and develops tubular violet flowers, creating a very attractive contrast.
Its growth is moderate and it produces pups easily, forming decorative clusters over time.
Thanks to its spectacular coloration and ease of cultivation, this hybrid is ideal for decoration with air plants, open terrariums, vertical gardens, or mounting on wood and cork, being a very showy option.
