Tillandsia Catimbauensis

The Tillandsia Catimbauensis is an interesting botanical species belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its resilience, compact size, and adaptation to dry and sunny environments. It is an air plant ideal for collectors and cultivation in demanding conditions.

This species is very rare and native to Brazil, specifically the Catimbau National Park region, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic or saxicolous plant in semi-arid, high-light, and well-ventilated environments.

The Tillandsia Catimbauensis develops compact rosettes with narrow, firm leaves covered in trichomes, ranging in color from grayish-green to silvery, which allows it to reflect sunlight and withstand prolonged periods of drought.

Its growth is slow to moderate and over time it can produce pups, forming small clusters.

During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops an inflorescence with tubular flowers in violet or bluish tones, providing a delicate contrast.

Thanks to its resilience and its origin in extreme environments, the Tillandsia Catimbauensis is ideal for collections, mounting on stone or wood, decoration in very bright environments or dry spaces, where it can develop properly.
