Tillandsia Exserta (Exselsa)
Tillandsia Exserta (often sold as “Exselsa”) is an interesting botanical species belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its great resilience, vigorous growth, and elegant stature. It is an ideal air plant for both beginners and collectors.
This species is native to Mexico and Central America, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant in environments with bright light, good ventilation, and a warm climate with moderate humidity, adapting very well to different conditions.
Tillandsia Exserta develops medium-sized open rosettes, with long, narrow, and somewhat rigid leaves, ranging from green to grayish-green with the presence of trichomes.
Its growth is moderate to fast and it easily produces pups, forming decorative clusters over time.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops an inflorescence with reddish or pink bracts and violet tubular flowers, creating a very attractive contrast.
Thanks to its resilience and ease of cultivation, Tillandsia Exserta is ideal for air plant decor, vertical gardens, collections, or mounting on wood and cork, making it a very rewarding choice.
