Tillandsia Holm´s Pink Star
The Tillandsia Holm´s Pink Star is a striking ornamental hybrid belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly prized for its intense pink flowering, compact growth, and great decorative value. It is one of the most eye-catching varieties among the Holm´s group of hybrids.
This hybrid comes from a cross between Tillandsia Ionantha and Tillandsia Stricta, a combination that provides a balance between coloration, structure, and ease of cultivation.
The Tillandsia Ionantha, native to Mexico and Central America, contributes to the hybrid's ability to acquire intense reddish tones before flowering, its great resilience, and its rapid production of offsets, easily forming dense clusters.
For its part, the Tillandsia Stricta, native to Brazil, contributes with its more orderly structure, stiffer leaves, and a highly ornamental flowering with pink bracts, which intensifies the visual appeal of the hybrid.
Thanks to this genetic combination, the Tillandsia Holm´s Pink Star develops compact rosettes of narrow, dense leaves, with a grayish-green base that can take on reddish tones with good lighting.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it produces very intense pink bracts from which tubular violet flowers emerge, creating a highly striking visual effect that gives this variety its name.
Furthermore, it produces numerous offsets, forming compact and highly decorative clusters over time.
