Tillandsia Holm´s Sunrays
The Tillandsia Holm´s Sunrays is an attractive ornamental hybrid belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its bright coloration, compact growth, and ease of cultivation. It is an ideal plant for adding light and contrast to tillandsia arrangements.
This hybrid comes from the cross between Tillandsia Ionantha and Tillandsia Tenuifolia, a combination widely used for its balance between hardiness and ornamental value.
The Tillandsia Ionantha, native to Mexico and Central America, contributes its ability to acquire intense reddish hues, its ease of cultivation, and its abundant production of offsets, which makes the plant form clumps quickly.
For its part, the Tillandsia Tenuifolia, native to Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina, contributes its finer structure, tidy growth, and showy flowering, resulting in a more stylized hybrid.
Thanks to this genetic combination, the Tillandsia Holm´s Sunrays develops compact rosettes of narrow and slightly open leaves, with a grayish-green base that can transform into reddish, orange, or even golden tones with good lighting, evoking the sun's rays, from which its name derives.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it produces violet tubular flowers, creating a very striking contrast with the plant's coloration.
Additionally, it produces numerous offsets, forming dense and highly decorative clumps over time.
