Tillandsia Holm’s Stropi
The Tillandsia Holm’s Stropi is an attractive ornamental hybrid belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its compact habit, intense coloration, and great ease of cultivation. It is an air plant ideal for both beginners and collectors.
This hybrid is part of the renowned Holm’s series, characterized by the selection of plants with better color, resistance, and ornamental performance. Although its exact parentage is not officially documented, it exhibits clear characteristics of the ionantha/stricta group.
The influences of the Ionantha group provide its compact size, ability to acquire reddish tones, and ease of producing pups, while the Stricta group contributes with more vigorous growth, slightly longer leaves, and greater ease of flowering.
Thanks to this genetic combination, the Tillandsia Holm’s Stropi develops compact rosettes with thin, slightly flexible, green leaves, which can transform into reddish or pinkish tones with good lighting.
Its growth is rapid and it produces numerous pups, forming dense clusters over time.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops an inflorescence with pink bracts and violet tubular flowers, which are highly decorative.
Thanks to its size, color, and ease of cultivation, the Tillandsia Holm’s Stropi is ideal for open terrariums, collections, vertical gardens, or mounts on wood and cork, making it a very versatile option.
