Tillandsia Kolbii × Juncea
The Tillandsia Kolbii × Juncea is an interesting ornamental hybrid belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its elongated posture, vertical growth, and great resistance. It is an air plant ideal for modern compositions, vertical mounts, and collections.
This hybrid combines two very characteristic species:
The Tillandsia Kolbii, native to Mexico and Central America, contributes its compact base growth, fine leaves, and a certain ability to form clusters over time, as well as good adaptation to different conditions.
For its part, the Tillandsia Juncea, native to Central and South America, is characterized by its vertical growth, long and narrow rush-like leaves, and great resistance to high-light conditions and drought.
Thanks to this genetic combination, the Tillandsia Kolbii × Juncea develops a stylized and elongated structure, with a slightly denser base (Kolbii influence) and fine leaves that grow vertically (Juncea influence), creating a plant with a modern, clean, and highly decorative appearance.
Its growth is moderate, and over time it can produce pups, forming denser clusters from the base.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it can produce tubular flowers in violet or purple tones, which are discreet but elegant.
Thanks to its vertical shape and its resistance, the Tillandsia Kolbii × Juncea is ideal for decoration with air plants, vertical mounts, modern compositions, or vertical gardens, adding height and structure.
