Tillandsia Bulbosa Hybrid
The Tillandsia Bulbosa Hybrid is an attractive hybrid air plant belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly prized for its sculptural form and great ornamental value. Derived from the well-known Tillandsia Bulbosa, this hybrid maintains the characteristic bulbous base and twisted leaves that make this species one of the most striking tillandsias.
The Tillandsia Bulbosa is native to Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant on tree branches in tropical and subtropical forests with good ventilation and ambient humidity.
This hybrid retains the bulbous structure at the base of the plant, from which emerge elongated and curved leaves that twist irregularly, creating a highly decorative appearance. Its unique shape makes it one of the most used tillandsias in open terrariums, air plant compositions, wood mounts, or decorative structures.
During the flowering season, usually in spring or summer, the plant produces an inflorescence with small violet or purple tubular flowers. In many specimens, the leaves near the flowering area can take on reddish tones, increasing their ornamental appeal.
Thanks to its tropical origin, the Tillandsia Bulbosa Hybrid adapts well to bright interiors with good ambient humidity and ventilation, being a relatively resilient plant if proper conditions are maintained.
