Tillandsia Aeranthos Burgundy
The Tillandsia Aeranthos Burgundy is an attractive variety of the well-known Tillandsia Aeranthos, belonging to the Bromeliaceae family. This variety stands out for its more intense reddish or burgundy tones, especially when the plant receives good lighting or during the period leading up to flowering.
The Tillandsia Aeranthos is native to Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant on tree branches, trunks, and rocks in well-ventilated, well-lit areas. In its natural habitat, it usually develops in dense clusters or colonies, as it easily produces offsets after each blooming cycle.
The Burgundy variety maintains the species' characteristic structure, with compact rosettes of narrow, rigid leaves covered in trichomes that allow it to absorb moisture from the air. Its main appeal is the intensification of the reddish or burgundy tones on the leaves, which gives it great ornamental value.
During the flowering season, usually in spring or summer, it develops a pink inflorescence from which deep violet tubular flowers emerge, creating a very striking contrast with the plant's reddish tone.
Thanks to its hardiness and ease of cultivation, the Tillandsia Aeranthos Burgundy is ideal for open terrariums, vertical gardens, air plant arrangements, or decorative mounts on wood, cork, or stone.
