Tillandsia Aeranthos Curly

The Tillandsia Aeranthos Curly is an attractive variety of the well-known Tillandsia Aeranthos, belonging to the Bromeliaceae family. This variety stands out for the wavy or slightly curled shape of its leaves, which gives it a more dynamic and ornamental appearance compared to the classic form of the species.

The Tillandsia Aeranthos is native to Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant on tree branches, trunks, and rocks in areas with good ventilation and abundant light. In its natural habitat, it usually forms dense colonies, as it easily produces offsets after flowering.

The Curly variety maintains the compact structure characteristic of the species, but features more wavy or curved leaves, forming highly decorative grayish-green rosettes. These leaves are covered in trichomes, which allow the plant to absorb moisture and nutrients directly from the air.

During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops a pink or reddish inflorescence from which intense violet tubular flowers emerge, one of the most striking features of the Aeranthos group of tillandsias.

Thanks to its resistance and ease of cultivation, the Tillandsia Aeranthos Curly is an ideal plant for open terrariums, vertical gardens, compositions with air plants, or mounts on wood, cork, or stone, adding a natural and exotic touch.
