Tillandsia Aeranthos Giant Form
The Tillandsia Aeranthos Giant Form is an impressive variety of the well-known Tillandsia Aeranthos, belonging to the Bromeliaceae family. This form is distinguished primarily by its larger size and more robust habit, developing larger rosettes than the classic form of the species.
The Tillandsia Aeranthos is native to Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant on tree branches, trunks, and even rocks in areas with good ventilation and abundant light. In its natural habitat, it usually forms dense colonies, producing numerous offsets after each flowering.
The Giant Form variety features longer leaves and a wider rosette, while maintaining the characteristic grayish-green color covered in trichomes. Over time, it produces numerous side shoots that allow for the formation of large, highly decorative clumps.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops a pink or reddish inflorescence from which intense violet tubular flowers emerge, creating a striking contrast that stands out especially in larger plants.
Thanks to its resistance and vigor, the Tillandsia Aeranthos Giant Form is ideal for vertical gardens, compositions with air plants, mountings on wood or cork, and Tillandsia collections, adding volume and presence to any arrangement.
