Tillandsia Albida Giant

Tillandsia Albida ‘Giant’

The Tillandsia Albida ‘Giant’ is an impressive form of Tillandsia Albida belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its larger size, silvery coloration, and great resistance to dry conditions. It is an air plant ideal for collectors and those looking for specimens with a more imposing presence.

The Tillandsia Albida is native to Mexico and Central America, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant in environments with high brightness, good ventilation, and a dry or semi-arid climate, adapting perfectly to demanding conditions.

The ‘Giant’ form is characterized by developing a larger and more open structure, with longer and more visible leaves than the standard form, while maintaining its characteristic silvery appearance.

The Tillandsia Albida ‘Giant’ forms wide rosettes of thin, elongated leaves covered in abundant trichomes, of a silvery white color, which allows it to reflect light and withstand high solar exposure conditions.

Its growth is moderate and over time it can produce pups, forming clusters of greater volume.

During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops an inflorescence with light bracts and tubular flowers in violet or lilac tones, creating an elegant contrast.

Thanks to its size, resistance, and aesthetics, the Tillandsia Albida ‘Giant’ is ideal for decoration with air plants, large spaces, collections, or mountings on wood and stone, where it can stand out.
