Tillandsia Albida ‘Pulk’

The Tillandsia Albida ‘Pulk’ is an interesting selected form of Tillandsia Albida belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its more compact size, high density of trichomes, and great resistance to dry conditions. It is an ideal air plant for collectors and for cultivation in very bright environments.

The Tillandsia Albida is native to Mexico and Central America, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant in environments with high light, excellent ventilation, and a dry or semi-arid climate, making it a species well-adapted to demanding conditions.

The ‘Pulk’ form is characterized by developing a more compact and dense structure, with slightly shorter leaves and a higher concentration of trichomes, which gives it an even more silvery-white appearance than the standard form.

The Tillandsia Albida ‘Pulk’ forms compact rosettes of thin, rigid leaves densely covered in trichomes, which allows it to reflect sunlight and withstand periods of drought with great ease.

Its growth is slow to moderate and over time it can produce pups, forming small compact clusters.

During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops an inflorescence with light-colored bracts and tubular flowers in shades of violet or lilac, creating a soft and elegant contrast.

Thanks to its size, resistance, and silvery aesthetic, the Tillandsia Albida ‘Pulk’ is ideal for collections, air plant decor, mounting on stone or wood, and very bright or dry environments.
