Tillandsia Araujei
The Tillandsia Araujei is an interesting botanical species belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its elongated growth, fine leaves, and great resilience. It is an air plant ideal for collectors and natural hanging displays.
This species is native to Brazil, from the São Paulo region, and takes its name from a local river, the Arauje, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant in environments with high light, good ventilation, and a warm climate with moderate humidity, adapting well to different conditions.
It is also known in English-speaking countries as the "São Paulo Air Plant" or as the Araujei Closet Form.
The Tillandsia Araujei develops elongated rosettes with narrow, flexible, and slightly arched leaves, ranging from green to grayish-green, with the presence of trichomes that help it absorb moisture from the air.
Its growth is moderate to fast, and over time it easily produces offsets, forming longer structures or highly decorative hanging clusters.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops an inflorescence with pink bracts and tubular violet flowers, providing an attractive contrast.
Thanks to its growth and natural aesthetic, the Tillandsia Araujei is ideal for hanging decorations, vertical gardens, collections, or mounts on wood and cork, where it can develop freely.
