Tillandsia Castellanii
The Tillandsia Castellanii is an interesting botanical species belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its compact size, silvery coloration, and high resistance to dry conditions. It is an air plant ideal for collectors and lovers of xerophytic tillandsias.
This species is native to Peru, where it grows naturally in arid and high-altitude areas, developing as an epiphytic or saxicolous plant in environments with high luminosity, low humidity, and excellent ventilation, adapting to demanding conditions.
The Tillandsia Castellanii develops compact rosettes, with thin, rigid leaves densely covered with trichomes, which gives it its characteristic silvery white color and allows it to reflect solar radiation and capture moisture from the environment.
Its growth is slow, but stable, and over time it can produce pups (offsets), forming small compact groups.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops a discrete inflorescence with delicate yet elegant violet tubular flowers.
Thanks to its resistance, size, and aesthetics, the Tillandsia Castellanii is ideal for specialized collections, stone or wood mounts, decoration in very bright environments, or dry spaces where it can stand out.
