Tillandsia Concolor × Paucifolia
The Tillandsia Concolor × Paucifolia is an attractive ornamental hybrid belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its compact size, slightly thickened base, and curved leaves. It is an ideal air plant for collectors and easy cultivation.
This hybrid combines two very interesting species:
The Tillandsia Concolor, native to Mexico and Central America, contributes its compact structure, ease of cultivation, and hardiness, as well as a balanced form.
Meanwhile, the Tillandsia Paucifolia, native to Central America and the Caribbean, is known for its slightly bulbous base, more open leaves, and dynamic growth, contributing a more exotic appearance.
Thanks to this genetic combination, the Tillandsia Concolor × Paucifolia develops compact rosettes with a somewhat thickened base, from which emerge narrow, elongated, and slightly arched or curved leaves, gray-green in color with the presence of trichomes.
Its growth is moderate to fast and it easily produces offsets, forming small decorative clusters.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops an inflorescence with reddish bracts and violet tubular flowers, inheriting characteristics from both species.
Thanks to its hardiness, shape, and ease of cultivation, this hybrid is ideal for collections, decoration with air plants, wood mounts, or mixed compositions, making it very versatile.
