Tillandsia Cyanea
The Tillandsia Cyanea is a popular botanical species belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its striking spike-shaped inflorescence and ease of cultivation. It is an air plant ideal for indoors and beginners.
This species is native to Ecuador, where it grows naturally in humid forests, developing as an epiphytic or terrestrial plant in environments with filtered light, high humidity, and stable temperatures.
Unlike many more xerophytic tillandsias, the Tillandsia Cyanea features a compact rosette of long, narrow, and soft leaves of an intense green color, with a lower presence of trichomes, which indicates its preference for more humid environments.
Its growth is moderate and after flowering it produces offsets at the base, forming new specimens.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops a very characteristic inflorescence in the shape of a "feather" or flat pink spike, from which violet flowers emerge, creating a highly ornamental contrast.
Thanks to its aesthetics and ease of cultivation, the Tillandsia Cyanea is ideal for bright interiors, tropical decor, decorative pots, or large terrariums, being one of the most popular tillandsias.
