Tillandsia Edithae

The Tillandsia Edithae is a spectacular botanical species belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly prized for its unusual flowering in intense red tones, something rare within the Tillandsia genus. It is an air plant ideal for collectors and lovers of special species.

This species is native to Bolivia, where it grows naturally in mountainous areas and dry forests, developing as an epiphytic or saxicolous plant in environments with high light, good ventilation, and a cool to temperate climate.

The Tillandsia Edithae develops medium-sized rosettes with elongated, soft, greyish-green leaves, covered by trichomes that allow it to absorb moisture from the air. Its appearance is softer and less xerophytic than other silver tillandsias.

Its growth is moderate, and over time it produces pups, forming decorative clumps.

One of its greatest attractions is its flowering, which usually occurs in spring or summer, developing intense red tubular flowers, a very unusual characteristic in tillandsias, which makes it a highly valued species.

Thanks to its unique flowering and elegance, the Tillandsia Edithae is ideal for collections, decoration with air plants, open terrariums, or mounts on wood and cork, providing an exotic and distinct touch.
