Tillandsia ‘Firestorm’
The Tillandsia ‘Firestorm’ is a spectacular ornamental hybrid belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, formed by the combination of the Tillandsia Ionantha Fuego and the Tillandsia Abdida. It is highly valued for its intense reddish coloration, compact size, and great visual appeal. It is an air plant ideal for collectors and eye-catching decor.
This hybrid is known for its ability to acquire very intense red, orange, or pink tones, especially with good lighting or during the flowering season. Although its exact parentage may vary depending on the cultivation, it presents clear characteristics of tillandsias from the brachycaulos/capitata group.
The Tillandsia ‘Firestorm’ develops compact rosettes of wide, soft, and slightly arched leaves, green in color, which transforms into intense red, creating a highly decorative effect.
Its growth is moderate to fast and it produces pups easily, forming dense clumps over time.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops a central inflorescence with tubular violet flowers, which stand out against the plant's reddish coloration.
Thanks to its color, its size, and its ease of cultivation, the Tillandsia ‘Firestorm’ is ideal for air plant decor, open terrariums, vertical gardens, or collections, being one of the most showy.
