Tillandsia Flabellata

Tillandsia Flabellata is an imposing botanical species belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its large size, broad leaves, and spectacular inflorescence. It is an air plant ideal for collectors and spacious areas where its tropical stature can shine.

This species is native to Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant in environments with high humidity, good ventilation, and abundant light, adapting well to warm climates.

Unlike many more xerophytic tillandsias, Tillandsia Flabellata has a more mesophytic appearance, with softer leaves that are less covered in trichomes.

It develops large open rosettes, with broad, long, and flexible leaves in bright green, forming a robust and highly ornamental plant.

Its growth is moderate and, over time, it can produce pups, forming large, voluminous clusters.

During the flowering season, usually in spring or summer, it develops a spectacular branched inflorescence in intense red tones, with violet tubular flowers, making it one of the most striking in the genus.

Thanks to its size and tropical aesthetic, Tillandsia Flabellata is ideal for decoration in large spaces, vertical gardens, collections, or mounts on structures where it can stand out.
