Tillandsia ‘Funky One’
The Tillandsia ‘Funky One’ is an attractive ornamental hybrid belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its light structure, branching growth, and unique aesthetic. It is an air plant ideal for collectors and delicate arrangements.
This hybrid corresponds to the combination:
Tillandsia Andreana × Tillandsia Funckiana
The Tillandsia Andreana, native to Colombia, provides its extremely fine, soft leaves and its light, elegant habit.
For its part, Tillandsia Funckiana, native to Venezuela, contributes its characteristic caulescent (stem-based) growth, branching structure, and tubular flowering along the stems.
Thanks to this genetic combination, the Tillandsia ‘Funky One’ develops a fine and airy branched structure, with slender stems covered in very fine, soft leaves, ranging from green to light green, creating a light and highly ornamental plant.
Its growth is moderate and it produces offsets easily, forming soft clumps over time.
During the flowering season, it can produce tubular flowers along the stems, inheriting the flowering pattern of Tillandsia Funckiana, with variations depending on the clone.
Thanks to its shape and texture, the Tillandsia ‘Funky One’ is ideal for open terrariums, light arrangements, mounts on wood, or collections, where its delicate appearance can stand out.
