Tillandsia Edithae ‘Giant’

The Tillandsia Edithae ‘Giant’ is an impressive form of Tillandsia Edithae belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its larger size, more developed leaves, and its characteristic intense red bloom. It is an ideal air plant for collectors and standout specimens.

The Tillandsia Edithae is native to Bolivia, where it grows in high-altitude areas, as an epiphytic or saxicolous plant, in environments with high light, a cool climate, and good ventilation.

The ‘Giant’ form is characterized by developing a larger and more robust structure, with longer leaves and a more open rosette than the standard form.

The Tillandsia Edithae ‘Giant’ develops broad rosettes of fine, soft, and slightly arched leaves, grayish-green in color with trichomes.

Its growth is slow to moderate, but it reaches a larger size than usual, and over time it can produce pups, forming larger clusters.

During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops a very characteristic inflorescence with intense red tubular flowers, one of the most striking within the Tillandsia genus.

Thanks to its size, rarity, and spectacular bloom, the Tillandsia Edithae ‘Giant’ is ideal for specialized collections, standout displays, or spaces where it can shine as a focal plant.
