Tillandsia Glabrior
The Tillandsia Glabrior is an interesting botanical species belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly prized for its compact size, its silvery coloration, and its ability to form dense clumps over time. It is a hardy air plant, ideal for both collectors and natural decorative arrangements.
This species is native to South America, where it grows epiphytically in environments with high light, good ventilation, and periods of dryness. It is well-adapted to relatively dry conditions, which makes it a very versatile plant in cultivation.
The Tillandsia Glabrior develops small, compact rosettes, with thin, rigid leaves covered in trichomes, which are responsible for its characteristic silvery-gray tone. This adaptation allows it to absorb ambient moisture and tolerate conditions with low water availability.
Its growth is moderate and it produces pups easily, forming dense and highly ornamental clusters over time.
During flowering, generally in spring or summer, it develops a simple inflorescence with tubular flowers in violet tones, typical of the Tillandsia genus.
Thanks to its size, hardiness, and aesthetics, the Tillandsia Glabrior is ideal for open terrariums, decorative mounts, collections, or compositions with other air plants.
