Tillandsia Houston Dark Red
The Tillandsia Houston Dark Red is an ornamental hybrid highly prized for its intense reddish coloration, its compact habit, and its great decorative value, being one of the most striking tillandsias for collections and arrangements. It belongs to the genus Tillandsia and stands out for its ease of cultivation and its spectacular color change.
This hybrid develops dense and well-defined rosettes, with fine, rigid leaves covered in trichomes, which normally display a grayish-green tone. Under good lighting or during the flowering phase, the plant acquires an intense dark red coloration, one of its most characteristic traits.
In cultivation, it shows high adaptability, resilience, and good tolerance to different environmental conditions, making it ideal for both beginners and collectors.
Its growth is moderate and it produces pups easily, forming compact and highly decorative clusters over time.
During flowering, generally in spring or summer, it develops a discreet inflorescence with violet tubular flowers, accompanied by a marked reddening of the plant.
Thanks to its size, color, and resilience, the Tillandsia Houston Dark Red is ideal for decoration in open terrariums, decorative arrangements, or collections.
