Tillandsia Mali Dofitas
The Tillandsia Mali Dofitas (Caput-Medusae x Bulbosa) is a striking ornamental hybrid originating from Asia, created in the Philippines by Rene Dofitas, and considered one of his first most representative hybrids. It is named after his eldest daughter, which adds special, personal value to this distinctive plant.
It features a bulbous structure at the base, inherited from its parents, from which emerge elongated, narrow, and twisted leaves, with an irregular growth pattern that gives it a very natural and dynamic appearance. Its foliage displays shades from intense green to grayish-green, with the presence of fine trichomes that soften its texture.
One of its most distinctive features is its sinuous and twisted shape, which recalls organic figures in motion. Each specimen develops a unique silhouette, making it an especially attractive piece for collections or decorative arrangements with personality.
During flowering, it develops a compact central inflorescence, with reddish-toned bracts, from which emerge tubular violet or purple flowers, creating a striking contrast with the green foliage.
Thanks to its hybrid origin, its sculptural form, its unique history, and its great ornamental value, the Tillandsia Mali Dofitas is an excellent choice for those looking for a different air plant, one with character and a story behind it.
