Tillandsia Mystic Burgundy
The Tillandsia Mystic Burgundy (Muhriae x Albertiana) is an attractive ornamental hybrid from the Mystic series, created by Mark Dimmitt, a group of hybrids in which one of the parents is always Tillandsia albertiana. It is a plant highly prized for its compact habit, ease of cultivation, and spectacular dark, burgundy-toned coloration.
It features a specimen with hard leaves and elegant, grayish-green to dark gray tones, with deep nuances that enhance its sophisticated appearance. Its structure is balanced and ornamental, with a compact silhouette that maintains a strong visual presence even outside of blooming season.
The name “Burgundy” refers precisely to its most striking feature: the intensity of its burgundy tones, especially visible during flowering. In addition, this variety stands out for its great reproductive capacity and for forming clumps easily, which further increases its decorative value over time.
During flowering, it produces a bracted inflorescence and up to three burgundy-colored flowers, very similar to those of Tillandsia albertiana. The overall effect is especially showy and elegant, with an intense and unusual coloration that contrasts very well with the plant's dark foliage.
Thanks to its dark foliage, its burgundy flowering, its membership in the Mystic series, and its easy cultivation, the Tillandsia Mystic Burgundy is an excellent choice for those seeking a striking, elegant air plant with great personality.
