Tillandsia Mystic Markus
The Tillandsia Mystic Markus (Muhriae x Albertiana) is an attractive ornamental hybrid from the Mystic series, created by Mark Dimmitt, in which one of the parents is always Tillandsia albertiana. It is a plant highly valued for its compact habit, ease of cultivation, and elegant color combination.
It features a balanced and well-formed rosette, with firm, narrow, and slightly curved leaves that display shades of grayish-green with reddish hues depending on the lighting and the state of the plant. The presence of fine trichomes gives it a soft and slightly matte finish.
One of its most attractive features is its ability to intensify the reddish or orange tones as flowering approaches, creating a very decorative contrast with the rest of the foliage. Its compact and orderly structure reinforces its elegant and balanced aesthetic.
During flowering, it develops a compact central inflorescence from which intense red tubular flowers emerge, clearly inherited from Tillandsia albertiana. This bloom is especially striking and provides a strong visual impact.
Thanks to its compact habit, changing coloration, and intense red flowering, the Tillandsia Mystic Markus is an excellent choice for those looking for a decorative, elegant, and distinctive air plant.
