Tillandsia Nidus
The Tillandsia Nidus is an interesting botanical species belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its compact habit, soft leaves, and balanced growth. It is an air plant ideal for collectors and delicate arrangements.
This species is native to South America, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant in forest environments with good ventilation, filtered light, and moderate humidity, adapting to less extreme conditions than xerophytic species.
The Tillandsia Nidus develops compact to semi-open rosettes, with relatively wide, soft, and slightly arched leaves, ranging from green to light green, with fewer trichomes than other more xerophytic Tillandsias.
Its growth is moderate and, over time, it produces pups, forming small decorative clumps.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops an inflorescence with pink or reddish bracts and tubular violet flowers, although there may be variations depending on its origin.
Thanks to its shape, texture, and ease of cultivation, the Tillandsia Nidus is ideal for open terrariums, collections, air plant decor, or mounting on wood and cork, especially in somewhat more humid environments.
