Tillandsia Paleacea Gigantea Peru

The Tillandsia Paleacea Gigantea Peru is a large-sized form of Tillandsia paleacea, native to the semi-desert areas of Peru, where it grows at latitudes exceeding 2,400 meters above sea level. It stands out for its more developed size within the group and its elegant hanging appearance.

It features a large caulescent structure, with an elongated and highly ornamental growth habit. Its leaves are narrow, elongated, and covered in abundant trichomes, which give it that characteristic silvery-gray look so prized in paleaceas. Its silhouette is light, soft, and very decorative.

One of its most attractive features is its tendency to form large cascading clusters, creating very striking compositions over time. This natural cascading foliage enhances its ornamental value, making it an excellent choice for hanging displays, aerial decorations, or compositions on natural supports.

During flowering, it produces a very showy inflorescence, from which large purple flowers emerge, accompanied by greenish bracts. The contrast between the purple bloom and the silvery foliage creates an especially elegant and eye-catching display.

It is also an easy-care specimen with good adaptation to cold, provided it has light, ventilation, and proper drying after watering. Its resistance, size, and cascading habit make this variety a very attractive option for both enthusiasts and collectors.

Thanks to its large size, silvery appearance, cascading growth, and striking purple flowering, the Tillandsia Paleacea Gigantea Peru is an excellent choice for those looking for a showy, hardy, and impressive air plant.
