Tillandsia Polystachia
The Tillandsia Polystachia is a tropical species that is very striking due to its elegant habit and spectacular flowering. It stands out for its open rosette and its more voluminous growth compared to other tillandsias, which gives it a very ornamental presence.
It features long, wide, and arching leaves with a soft texture and a deep green color, with fewer visible trichomes than species with a more silvery appearance. Its foliage forms a broad, lush, and slightly hanging structure, ideal for displaying in aerial or suspended compositions.
Over time, it can produce pups, forming small clusters that increase its volume and visual appeal, although it maintains a more open and less compact silhouette than other species of the genus.
During flowering, it produces a central spike of salmon and orange-toned bracts, being green at its upper end, which emerges from the center of the plant. A large number of tubular flowers in a purple tone sprout from this spike, creating a very vivid and exotic contrast.
It is an ideal plant for warm and humid environments, perfect for those looking for a more tropical-looking tillandsia with great decorative value and an especially striking flowering.
