Tillandsia Velickiana
The Tillandsia Velickiana is an interesting botanical species belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its compact habit, silvery-gray coloration, and great resilience in cultivation. It is an air plant ideal for both beginners and collectors.
This species is native to Central America, especially Guatemala and El Salvador, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant in environments with high light, good ventilation, and a dry or moderately humid climate.
The Tillandsia Velickiana develops compact rosettes of narrow, somewhat rigid, and slightly curved leaves, covered by abundant trichomes that give it its characteristic silvery tone. Its structure is dense and balanced, making it highly decorative.
Its growth is moderate and over time it produces pups, forming small clusters.
During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it develops an inflorescence with pink bracts and violet tubular flowers, creating a very attractive contrast with the plant's silvery tone.
Thanks to its resilience and size, the Tillandsia Velickiana is ideal for decoration with air plants, open terrariums, vertical gardens, or mounting on wood and cork, making it a versatile and easy-to-maintain plant.
