Tillandsia Victoria

The Tillandsia Victoria is an attractive ornamental hybrid belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its compact growth, resistance, and its ability to acquire intense colors. It is an air plant that is ideal for both beginners and collectors.

This hybrid comes from a cross between Tillandsia Ionantha and Tillandsia Brachycaulos, a very popular combination for its balance of size, color, and ease of cultivation.

The Tillandsia Ionantha, native to Mexico, Central America, and part of South America, contributes its great adaptability, resistance, and ease of producing offsets, in addition to its tendency to acquire reddish tones before flowering.

For its part, the Tillandsia Brachycaulos, native to Central America, is known for its intense red or orange coloration in conditions of good light, as well as for its compact and ornamental shape.

Thanks to this genetic combination, the Tillandsia Victoria develops compact rosettes of relatively wide and soft leaves, with a green color that can transform into very intense reddish, pink, or orange tones, especially before flowering.

During the flowering season, generally in spring or summer, it intensifies its coloration and produces violet tubular flowers, creating a very attractive contrast.

Its growth is fast and it produces numerous offsets, forming dense and decorative clusters over time.

Thanks to its resistance, its coloration, and its ease of cultivation, the Tillandsia Victoria is ideal for decoration with air plants, open terrariums, vertical gardens, or mounting on wood and cork, making it one of the best options for starting out in the cultivation of tillandsias.
