Tillandsia Xerographica
The Tillandsia Xerographica is one of the most iconic botanical species of the Tillandsia genus, belonging to the Bromeliaceae family, highly valued for its large size, sculptural shape, and ease of cultivation. It is considered one of the most decorative and prized Tillandsias by both collectors and for interior decoration.
It is native to Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant in areas with a dry climate, high luminosity, and excellent ventilation, generally in open forests or semi-arid areas.
The Tillandsia Xerographica forms a large rosette of wide, rigid, and curved leaves, silver-gray in color, covered in abundant trichomes. These structures allow it to capture moisture from the air and reflect solar radiation, adapting perfectly to drought conditions.
Its growth is slow but steady, and it can reach considerable sizes. Over time, it can produce pups (offshoots), especially after flowering.
During the flowering season, generally in summer, it develops a large branched inflorescence with reddish bracts and tubular violet flowers, which makes it a spectacular plant.
Thanks to its resilience, low maintenance, and high ornamental value, the Tillandsia Xerographica is ideal for decorating with air plants, bright spaces, modern interiors, or mounting on wood and decorative structures.
